Happy New Year!
Easing into the new millennium, we at WineSquire have made a couple
resolutions: keeping wine-buying within a budget, and being sure to
protect (store properly) the wine we do invest in. In this issue and
following editions, look for articles on these topics, as well as cellar
management tips, wine purchase strategies, quantity planning for
parties, and of course, timely picks for what to look for each month.
And new this month: try our WineSquire Survey! Located on our home page. Cast your vote and see what the rest of the WineSquire community votes, too. We'll have a variety of survey topics presented throughout the year.

best of the northwest.

=====================================================================
TIP: Don’t keep white wines in the fridge for weeks on end as this can
deaden the flavors when you do finally open and drink them. But a little
chilling before serving is good. A good rule of thumb for whites is a
maximum of 51°F (a little cooler for lighter/acidic whites or
sparklers). Perfect drinking temperature is most easily attained and
kept with a bucket and iced water.
