TIP: Never use liquid soap to clean your decanter as it's almost impossible to get rid of all the residue of detergent. It won't do the nose, let alone the taste, of a fine wine (and if it isn't fine, why have you bothered decanting it?) any good at all. Hot water and a long-handled bottle brush is all that is needed.
