Chardonnay
Louis Pierre et fils Les Enseigneres 2007 (A.O.C. Puligny Montrachet)
This is a beautiful, white, vin de Bourgogne. The nose of this Chardonnay presents a bouquet of citrus and herbs. The palate is dry; medium bodied, well balanced, and delivers pleasant finish. Flavors of lemon, herbs and minerality are to be expected. Drink now or hold for additional bottle aging.

Grgich Hills Estates 2007 (Napa Valley) Chardonnay
A bouquet of tropical citrus and lemon greets your nose. The palate is dry; medium bodied, and features a fresh, delicious acidity, as this Chardonnay does not undergo malolactic fermentation. Flavors of lemon and tropical fruit entice your palate and deliver a wonderfully, long finish. Drink now or hold for additional bottle aging.

Napa Valley Vineyards Reserve Chardonnay 2006 (California)
Given the state of the economy, DiNardo’s search for budget California wines brings us the following little gem. Aromas of lemon and toasted oak announce this yummy Chardonnay. The palate is dry, delivering terrific mouth feel, and balanced symmetry between acid and sugar. Flavors of tropical fruit and tart granny smith apple forecast a long finish. This Chardonnay pairs well with Japanese seafood Udon soup and also with pasta served in Alfredo sauce.

Hogue Chardonnay 2006 (Washington)
This is a terrific little Chardonnay. Not the typical oak bomb! Subtle aromas of vanilla and tropical fruit comprise the nose. The palate is dry yet well balanced, with great mouth feel. Dry, tart flavors of lemon, tropical fruit and herb contribute to a moderate finish. This wine is a perfect compliment with smoked salmon fettuccine. Enjoy.

McWilliams Hanwood Estate Chardonnay 2005 (Australia)
Ripper – (Aussie slang for terrific) Chardonnay from the land down under! The nose offers a bouquet of tropical fruit and subtle vanilla notes. This Chardonnay’s balanced palate is dry, with great viscosity, and not your typical oak bomb. Flavors of dry tropical fruit, tart granny smith apple, and mineral are prominent. Expect a long, mouth watering, finish.

La Crema Chardonnay 2006 (California)
It’s been awhile since I have had Chardonnay, and La Crema is definitely pleasing and not your typical California oak bomb. The nose offers up enticing aromas of lemon citrus, vanilla notes and herbs. The palate is dry yet soft, solidly structured, with terrific viscosity and mouth feel as a result of malolactic fermentation. Flavors of citrus, peach and subtle butterscotch build toward a sustained finish. Enjoy now with salmon.

Talus Chardonnay 2004 (California)
Yum, yum and yum! This Chardonnay’s enticing nose offers aromas of lime, peach and vanilla. The palate has achieved terrific balance between the acid and sugar, compelling medium body and good structure, and fruit forward flavors of green apple, citrus and tropical fruit. A mouth watering, long, finish will be experienced by all. Drink now. This wine pairs well with fish tacos and fruit salsas.

Turning Leaf Chardonnay
This California wine features a pleasing golden straw hue, and aromas of citrus, vanilla, toasted oak and herbs complete the nose of this chardonnay. The palette offers satisfying flavors of tart citrus, granny smith apple, and herb. The wine’s finish goes on and on. This chardonnay is not your typical “heavily oaked butter bomb”, but is truly a delightful wine and a terrific bargain for the price. This wine is a great accompaniment when paired with seared scallops and broccoli with cheddar sauce. Buon Appetito

Five Rivers Chardonnay 2004 (California)
I am really impressed with this chardonnay. Aromas of citrus, melon, oak and floral notes permeate the nose of this wine. The palette is dry with high acidity and medium alcohol, yet naturally balanced. Pronounced flavors of tart citrus, sour apple and the faintest presence of tropical fruit provide for a wonderfully long finish. This chardonnay is unassuming and definitely not your typical heavily oaked, follow the mass marketing leader, wine. Five Rivers is a great accompaniment to oysters on the half shell or Penn Cove mussels. Cheers!
