Caymus Special Selection is a rite of passage into California’s Cult Wine world. The 2001 vintage is often regarded as one California’s richest Cab’s. The nose is a bouquet of cigar box, cassis, black cherry, and coffee beans. Lavish, fruit forward, flavors of black cherry, plum, licorice and mocha are to be enjoyed by the reveler. The dry, balanced, palate begins strong and delivers elegant tannins. The finish unfortunately falls just short of “long”, and trails off too unexpectedly, revealing the wine’s youthfulness. Thoroughly enjoy now or cellar and rejoice later.
